The Charles Clore Day Hospice

The Charles Clore Day Hospice is a day therapy unit based at the West Berkshire Community Hospital which specialises in caring for and supporting patients with life-threatening illnesses, and their families. These include cancer and complex neurological disorders.

They offer support and advice to patients who have:

  • a serious and progressive illness and are having problems coping either physically or emotionally;
  • complex family problems as a result of illness; Are recovering from treatments.

The team working in the unit includes; Qualified Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, a Diversional Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist/Lymphoedema Specialist, Aromatherapist, Reflexologist, Dietician and access to Speech and Language Therapist.

A Clinical Psychologist has weekly appointments and a specialist Doctor holds weekly clinics in the Unit. In addition, they have a team of volunteers who come in regularly to help run and support the Unit.
